CH04 - Baxandall EQ

Peter Baxandall is an unsung hero of EQ design. Whether you grew up with hi-fi amplifiers with Treble and Bass cut/boost controls, or whether you reach for those settings on a modern smartphone, the notion of a generous, frequency-extending EQ which grows exponentially at both the treble and bass ends of a mix was pioneered by Baxandall and is still popular today.

I’ll show you the approach behind his EQ design and discover that the musicality therein is as relevant in mixes today as it was several decades ago.
